Today is Tuesday which means it’s Treat Yourself Tuesday. Head over to Becky’s blog if you don’t know what I am talking about. I haven’t done one of these posts in a few weeks. This weekend I had a few treats which luckily have stayed in my strict budget I have this month.
I have decided to not buy cupcakes unless it is a special occasion or something or if I am really craving one. However, sometimes you need a little something sweet and Friday I was craving some iced tea and something sweet. Rather than head to Starbucks for an iced tea, I came home after work and made my own iced tea. The best part about making your own pitcher of iced tea is I get tea with some ice instead of ice with some tea (like Starbucks).
Now if you are going to have some homemade iced tea, then you might want something sweet to go along with it (or maybe that’s just me). I decided to make Spoon’s double chocolate mug cake. It perfectly hit the spot and being that it is a single serving, you don’t have to worry about left overs which is great! [Her pictures probably make it look way more delicious than mine so be sure to check out her blog as well]
The rest of Friday night was pretty laid back, which was a treat in itself. I was more relaxed knowing that I could sleep in Saturday and put off the cleaning until Saturday morning.
Saturday I went to Target for a few items and decided to treat myself to a new foundation. I got the idea from Alysia’s blog. I realized I have had my current foundation for about 3 years now [you can tell how often I actually use it] but I wanted a fresh new foundation and to try a new brand. I’m going to a wedding in October and want to look nice and it’s a rare time I will actually wear some make up.
The other treat was the fact that I spent $0 at Target because I used a gift card I won recently. I still have a balance left on it and purchased a few necessary items that gave me another $5 gift card while I was there. That’s a win in my book!
After running my errands, I treated myself to Panera for a late lunch. It just sounded good and I am needing more variety in my diet, so a bacon turkey bravo sandwich it was. I also found out I have a $2 off a salad rewards I can use next time!! Guess that means I will be going back to Panera soon 🙂 I got it to go and ate at home while talking with a friend from home. It’s nice to catch up.
Sunday I treated myself to some yoga at the park and some reading time outside. Soaking up all the sun and warmth I can before summer is officially over.
It was a great weekend of treats and really relaxing. Always nice to have those laid back weekends!!

Thanks for sharing your beauty products. I always need help finding make up since I rarely wear it.

I LOL’d at the ice with some tea comment – That is SO true of the ‘bucks! I always ask for light ice and that seems to do the trick. If I’m paying $3-4 for a drink, I actually want some decent liquid involved 🙂

Yeah my last iced tea, it was definitely mostly ice and I was disappointed. At least my bf paid for it lol. I will have to try asking for light ice sometime.
